Description

“It isn’t uncommon for people to ask me to recall that period of my life in gruesome detail; I seldom do. The entire experience is not something I can sum up with any form of poetic grace; but that isn’t going to stop me from trying. During that time and the moments that lead up to the up to the inevitable finale, I was just a fledgling journalist trying to get a worth-while story by shadowing a then turned-rogue Interpol agent named Koji Ichinosuke. The mess that got me into is history, well known and documented by a thousand other sources. By the time I found out just what Ichinosuke was, the rest of the world, as well as my ambitions were going up in flames. I was there when the guardians stood up against god-like being known only as Bagan. To say the battle was brutal would be monumental understatement.

By the first month, mankind had already lost. Every weapon we pooled from around the world was as useless against Bagan as they were when we so foolishly drew them on the guardians and now they were falling before its god-like power. It was a terrifying time and by the sixth month the fight had boiled to a head. The final three guardians stood, Godzilla, Rodan, and Anguirus and the entire continent of Australia was their battle ground. The months leading up to this, the media was baffled as after each guardian lay dead at Bagan’s feet, another would wait and devour the core from their chests. It was no different when Rodan and Anguirus finally succumb to the awe inspiriting strength and brutality of Bagan.

Koji, the eternal optimist and cryptic spiritualist spoke of all the events as if they were religious experiences. I was not swayed, I looked at it all as ironic reckoning. Another extinction event and my outlook was grim. By the time Godzilla had pried the cores from his fallen ally’s chests and fed on them, Koji’s optimism was wearing thin. Finally, he too, the mighty Godzilla, even in his charged state, was put down. I was in the thicket, me and Koji both. We stood as close to the battlegrounds as we could. We had followed this fight to the ends of the earth. As Godzilla lay there, bleeding and defeated, I couldn't help but laugh. All of Koji’s spiritual banter and religious nonsense was fruitless and irritating, it was my turn to have a say. And like the perpetual and stereotypical atheist I was at the time I turned and looked at him, fear and laughter in my hysterical voice. ‘Where is your god now?’ I asked him, without any idea what was transpiring just behind my gaze.
Koji just grinned and pointed over my shoulder and way into the sky. When I turned I saw Godzilla alive and changed. It was when that awe-inspiring visage had filled my eyes that Koji answered my question; ‘right there Mr. Martin, right there...’ and the rest as you already know, is history…”

((I didn't proof read this either. I'll have the exact powers and abilities up eventually. Let me know what yo uthink."
